One powerful moment that stands out happened during a two-digit addition lesson. A student who typically hesitates to participate came up to the board, used the space to break apart numbers, and confidently explained their thinking to the group. The combination of the board, Expo markers, and a supportive environment allowed that student to take a risk and feel successful. In addition to academics, the feelings books and plushies have created a safe space for students to process emotions. We've been using them during morning meetings and transitions, giving students the language and comfort to express how they feel. The candy, prizes, and incentives have also played a meaningful role in building motivation and celebrating effort, especially for students who need that extra encouragement to stay engaged.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their reactions were immediate and full of excitement. The mobile board sparked curiosity right away—they were eager to come up and write, solve, and share. The classroom decor helped create a warm, welcoming space that they felt proud to be part of, and several students commented that it \"felt like a real classroom\" or \"looked like a place where learning happens.\" The feelings books and plushies were especially impactful for my students who need additional emotional support; they gravitated toward them instantly and began making connections to their own experiences.
