These backpacks have made school life much easier for these students. Having a bag to carry their school computers/Chromebooks, notebooks, textbooks, and folders is essential to staying on top of their school work. This bag really helps these kids learn essential executive functioning skills, such as organization. It results in more homework submissions (fewer lost papers), being prepared for class (notebooks, pencils, and a computer charger with them in class), and a greater comfort level for the students, as they are now like other kids with a bag and not so different. One huge plus is when the school gives these children food to take home on weekends (as many are food insecure), they can now discreetly put the food into their bags and remain anonymous that they are receiving help. Many of our lessons rely on color-coded materials, graphic organizers, and creative writing displays that help students organize their thinking and take pride in their work.\r\n\r\nThe USB-C adapter helps connect our classroom technology, allowing students to easily share presentations, multimedia projects, and digital learning tools. The classroom headphones have already made a meaningful impact as well. They help students stay focused during online learning activities, reading tasks, and assessments. Students regularly come up to the board to answer interactive quiz questions, which encourages active learning, collaboration, and confidence. Even students who are typically hesitant to participate are eager to take part because the format is engaging and low-pressure.\r\n\r\nI have also used BrainPOP's pre-made worksheets to support important learning skills across subjects. In my first-year seminar class, I used a note-taking worksheet where students interviewed a classmate and recorded key information. This activity helped students reflect on the accuracy of their notes and strengthened their listening and organizational skills.\r\n\r\nIn Earth science, I used a BrainPOP worksheet on plate tectonics. I was able to easily upload the worksheet into Kami, allowing students to complete the assignment digitally. This made the lesson both accessible and engaging while helping students better understand a complex scientific concept.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project has supported student engagement, strengthened essential academic skills, and provided high-quality resources that are easy to integrate into daily instruction.
