These backpacks have made school life much easier for these students. Having a bag to carry their school computers/Chromebooks, notebooks, textbooks, and folders is essential to staying on top of their school work. This bag really helps these kids learn essential executive functioning skills, such as organization. It results in more homework submissions (fewer lost papers), being prepared for class (notebooks, pencils, and a computer charger with them in class), and a greater comfort level for the students, as they are now like other kids with a bag and not so different. One huge plus is when the school gives these children food to take home on weekends (as many are food insecure), they can now discreetly put the food into their bags and remain anonymous that they are receiving help.
