Chromebooks have been a part of my classroom for the past four or five years now. Originally all of the ninth grade teachers at our school got a class set of them through a special grant. Now that several years have gone by, they are beginning to break down from over use and are becoming outdated. My students use Chromebooks almost daily in class. We use a platform called Google Classroom where the students are able to complete daily homework and classwork assignments. They take notes, peer edit/revise essays and projects etc. This technology allows students to work efficiently and neatly and allows for easy collaboration with their peers. Students are able to share documents, slideshows and more! With the internet at their fingertips, their research abilities are limitless in the classroom. Children learn how to be both responsible digital citizens as well as diligent students.
