My students were so excited when they first saw the new materials. The markers, highlighters, pens, Post-it notes, and large paper immediately sparked interest because students could tell these were supplies they would use often. The keyboard and mouse also made learning feel more interactive, and the microwave and mini refrigerator were especially meaningful because some students bring food like ramen and now have a way to store and heat it during the day.\r\n\r\nWe are already using these resources in meaningful ways in English class. One memorable project was a Frankenstein poster activity, where students worked together to analyze themes, conflict, figurative language, plot structure, and the novel's connection to modern society. Using the large paper, markers, highlighters, pens, and sticky notes, they mapped their ideas visually and organized their thinking in a creative, collaborative format. The materials helped students break down complex ideas and made their analysis more engaging and accessible.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to keep using these resources as we move further into literary analysis, class discussion, and writing. Students will continue annotating texts, tracking evidence, brainstorming essay ideas, and collaborating with peers before turning their thinking into more formal writing. Not only has this project helped me in my classroom and my lessons, but it has also inspired my students to explore Hydroponics outside of school during our after school club called Hydroponics Crew.\r\n\r\n\tLast year, we did a similar lesson, but we only followed the traditional way of planting with soil. Many of my students enjoyed it, but there were some concepts that were unclear. This year, with the help of the hydroponics systems, my students were able to participate in both traditional planting and hydroponics, which provided them with a better understanding of what plants need to grow and how they develop. For example, the students saw growth in both the soil and the water, which led them to question how this was possible. By having both models, students realized that soil is an important medium mainly due to the nutrients it carries. With this, we were able to further emphasize the importance of nutrients in planting.\r\n\r\n\tMany of our students became extremely interested in hydroponics and they wanted to extend their knowledge further by attending an after school club that I run called Hydroponics Crew. In the first semester, the club members brought in their expertise and helped maintain the systems for all of the classes. They checked and calibrated the pH of the tanks as well as added necessary nutrients to each of the systems. They tracked growth, water intake, and fruiting. Now that we are in the second semester, each member is running their own hydroponics system and planting their own seeds. Using the knowledge they gained from last semester, they learned the importance of compatible crops, proper nutrient calculations and timely cycles of light.\r\n\r\n\tHydroponics has not only helped my students understand plants better, but helped them become more inquisitive and research reliant. They learned the basic necessities when it comes to growing plants and they have applied this knowledge in their own gardens. All of our students decided on crops based on their desires as well as their families desires. Many of them have shared that they talk about hydroponics with their parents because of how excited they are. This project has allowed students to connect science not only to school and other subjects but also to their personal lives. \r\n\r\n\tOur students are full of curiosity and this project has helped to further that. The bean bags, whiteboards, clipboards, sticky notes, and cleaning supplies have transformed both the look of the room and the way students engage with their learning.\r\n\r\nStudents use the bean bags for independent work, collaborative group work, and project-based learning. Having flexible seating allows them to choose where they work best, which has increased focus and meaningful participation. The whiteboards and clipboards are used during group discussions, problem-solving activities, and brainstorming sessions, giving students the freedom to share ideas and think creatively. Sticky notes help students organize thoughts, provide peer feedback, and reflect on their learning. The Clorox wipes help us maintain a clean, shared space, teaching students responsibility and respect for their environment.\r\n\r\nWhen students first walked into the classroom and saw the new materials, their reactions were immediate and heartfelt. One student said, \"This doesn't even feel like a classroom anymore — it feels comfortable.\" Another shared, \"I like coming in here because it feels calm and not stressful.\" A student who often struggles with focus commented, \"I work better when I can sit somewhere comfortable.\" These moments confirmed how important a welcoming learning environment is, especially for high school students balancing academic and personal pressures.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, students are now better prepared for upcoming lessons that emphasize collaboration, discussion, and hands-on learning. That realization alone boosted their confidence and engagement.\r\nWe have already put the materials to meaningful use. During a recent lesson, students worked collaboratively on a hands-on project that allowed them to apply skills in a deeper, more meaningful way. One moment that truly captured the impact was watching a normally quiet student step forward to explain their thinking to the class using the new resources. The tools gave them both the confidence and clarity to share their ideas.\r\nLooking ahead, these materials will continue to play an essential role in our upcoming units. Students will be using them to extend their current projects, dive deeper into inquiry-based learning, and take greater ownership of their academic growth. They are now able to practice signal routing, sound shaping, and live‑mixing techniques using professional‑grade equipment. These skills can directly prepare them for college programs and careers in audio production. With the mixer at the center of our setup, students can experiment confidently, learn from mistakes in real time, and explore creative possibilities that simply weren't available to them before.\r\n\r\nOur band students are also benefiting in powerful ways. The mixer allows us to capture high‑quality recordings of rehearsals and performances, which helps students hear their progress and reflect on areas for improvement. One powerful moment was watching students thoughtfully explain who their second mug was for and why, taking extra care with the surface design because they knew the piece would be gifted to someone they care about.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the wide variety of glazes and underglazes, their excitement was immediate.
