Using and creating a sketchbook is more than words can describe. Creating sketchbooks will allow students to be accountable for the design and input into how it is made. Consider how to visually and verbally reflect themselves in their sketchbooks. Students will be able to explore the world around us and have a place to keep those ideas in one place. It can help to spark or generate a sense of growth by allowing students to look back at what they did and see possible changes. Creating your own sketchbook can allow us to solve problems and come up with answers that we did not think we needed to be answered. Students can use their sketchbooks to prepare for projects or a remainder of due dates both written or visually. Sometimes it is difficult to write the word and you may need to use color and images to best express what is going on. Using our sketchbook is not limited to just pencil and paper. You can use markers, pens, and inks, paint, and glue items found or created. Or even just to waste some time. Create art inside of art since they will make it themselves.
