The arrival of our new multi-sensory resources has truly transformed our classroom into a more engaging, accessible, and vibrant learning environment for my preschool students.\r\n\r\nHow We Are Using the Resources\r\nWe have hit the ground running with our new felt board and tactile story pieces! These materials have become the centerpiece of our daily \"Language Arts Zone.\" One specific moment that stands out involved a student who typically struggles with joint attention. Using the new felt pieces, we were able to practice \"reciprocal imitation\"—I placed a cow on the board, and he imitated the action by placing the sheep right next to it. For a student with ASD, this small moment of shared focus is a massive milestone in communication.\r\n\r\nStudent Reactions\r\nThe \"unboxing\" day was filled with pure joy. When my students first saw the bright colors of the felt story sets and felt the textures of the new manipulatives, their eyes lit up. One of my students, who is often overwhelmed by loud noises, spent twenty minutes completely calm and engaged, running her hands over the felt pieces. Your gift provided a sense of wonder that was palpable throughout the entire room.\r\n\r\nNext Steps in Our Learning Journey\r\nOur next big step is using these resources to master \"sequencing.\" We are currently working on a project where students use the felt pieces to show the beginning, middle, and end of a story. Because of your support, my students now have the physical tools they need to \"touch\" the story, which helps bridge the gap between abstract ideas and concrete understanding.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing to invest in my students' potential.
