I believe students need time to express themselves through art. Virtual learning last year really prevented hands-on art lessons. There are always at least 3 to 4 students who love art and are constantly drawing in their free time. Having various media will help in this expression process. The students will earn Fun Friday Art Session time by being on task during the week and completing all assignments. Hopefully, this will encourage them to finish all assigned work so they can participate each Friday. The idea of Fun Friday was introduced to me as a parent with my son's 4th grade class years ago. I was a volunteer class parent who helped at times, and students loved this creative time.
