I want to foster a love of reading in my students. I have been building my classroom library, but I need a little help. Reading aloud is a huge part of my instruction. I use books to introduce topics and to complement my language arts, social-emotional, science, social studies, art, and math lessons. There are books to go with our weekly themes and holidays and books just for fun. I have stuffed animals of some book characters and will choose students to act out the story while I read. Students also get a chance to read and look at their favorites during independent reading time. There is a wealth of amazing children's literature out there, and I want my students to have access to it. By having a classroom library of books I have curated, I know that the titles I need will be available when I need them. Having a classroom library also models my own love of reading to them and adds to our print-rich environment. Thank you for helping to make this possible.
