The ability to be able to create almost anything they want on almost they want is truly magical. Our students have no idea the things they can create. They can create cups, mugs, shirts, stickers and bags to sell. We've been using the SEL materials during our morning check-ins, which help students set intentions for the day and practice mindfulness strategies. One project that stood out was a group activity where students created \"calm corner\" reflection cards using the new supplies, giving them tools to self-regulate when they feel stressed. The healthy snacks have also made a huge difference—students know they can refuel their bodies and minds, which helps them stay focused and engaged during lessons.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, my students' faces lit up with excitement. Many couldn't believe that people outside of our classroom cared enough to support them in this way. One student shared, \"It feels like someone believes in us.\" That sense of encouragement has carried into their work, where they are currently building a classroom \"toolkit\" of SEL strategies they can apply in and out of school. Our next steps include using the resources to practice conflict resolution through role-playing activities and connecting SEL lessons to our academic projects.
