Many of the students I work with require more than academic instruction, such as clothing and food. I'm very happy to work with these students and their families in providing them wat they need to succeed. Having a portable device such as this iPad would help me to do my job more effectively and efficiently. I make sure both online students and onsite students have what resources they need. I want to make sure my students have the instructional supports and daily necessities of life. With this iPad I will be able to look up more resources in the valley while working with my students virtually. There are times where I need to leave campus to gather the necessary resources my students need such as going to Project 150 and Three Square. By having this iPad I will be able to take my job with me and collect necessary data while communicating with my students and staff while off campus. I will be able to create resource sheets, resource calendars, and send out messages to families. Research shows that when students needs are met they thrive academically and behaviorally. By meeting their basic needs I will be helping my students to improve both their academics and behavior. Also, children who come from families where their basic needs are being met thrive better in school as well as have lower risk factors. These children are shown to have a better chance of being successful productive adults and members of society. Please help me to give my students the support they need and increase their chance of becoming successful adults.
