I am requesting an iPad which will be used to help students monitor their fitness levels. Each week we are going to set goals for health and fitness. During our physical education class, we will be working on muscular strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. We need a portable device that we can use out on the field in order to track our data in real time. Students will be able to track their weekly progress and set goals for improvement on a weekly basis with this iPad. I will also use it to show motivation video clips and take pictures and videos to document our progress. This technology will really help our students learn visually since they struggle with various learning disabilities. Health and fitness is a priority for our students because most of the time, outside of school, students do not have the ability to workout on their own. I would also like to use this technology to help educate our students on the importance of nutrition. My goal is to create diet plans and fitness logs with this iPad so that our students can track what they eat and how long they workout on a daily basis. This will greatly help out with accountability among our students and will hopefully lead to great results. Our students do not get the opportunity to play school sports so my class is their sports program experience! This means better opportunities for success outside of school!
