The use of math manipulatives has proven to help even the most challenged learners. It is essential for students to grasp math concepts as early as possible so they don't fall even more behind. My students will be able to get some one on one instruction so they can fully understand the use of the manipulatives, this will help them be more confident once it is time for independent work. The board games and kinetic sand allow for the students to interact with one another establishing positive relationships with their peers. It will also allow opportunities for them to use problem solving skills to work out any disagreements that may arise during the game.
