It was a powerful moment that instantly boosted their interest and excitement to write. \r\n\r\nSince we began using these resources, I have seen a remarkable transformation in their writing stamina and creativity. Before these materials arrived, many students viewed writing as a chore, often struggling to fill half a page. Now, they are eager to dive into their \"Author Centers.\" The specialized paper and tools have helped them better organize their thoughts, and their illustrations have become much more detailed. We are using the journals to create a dictionary for important words to know how to spell. \r\n\r\n This project hasn't just given us supplies; it has fostered a genuine love for literacy that will stay with these students as they continue their journey through elementary school. Your support truly means a great deal to both our students and our teaching community. Because of your kindness, our students now have access to hands-on materials that help bring science to life in meaningful and exciting ways. These resources are not just supplies on a shelf—they are tools that spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners.\r\n\r\nOur students absolutely love working with the new materials. Being able to physically interact with the tools we use during our lessons helps them understand scientific concepts much more clearly than simply reading about them in a textbook. Hands-on learning allows them to experiment, ask questions, make observations, and discover answers on their own. This type of learning experience helps students build critical thinking skills and encourages them to see science as something exciting and approachable.\r\n\r\nAs we continue implementing these supplies into our curriculum, we are already seeing the positive impact they are having in the classroom. Lessons feel more engaging, students are more eager to participate, and there is a noticeable increase in enthusiasm whenever we begin a science activity. Students are asking thoughtful questions, collaborating with their classmates, and showing a deeper interest in the topics we are studying.\r\n\r\nRecently, we have also welcomed several new students into our classroom community. Starting in a new classroom can sometimes feel overwhelming, but the welcoming environment we have created through shared learning experiences helps them feel included right away. When they join in our science activities and see their classmates exploring, experimenting, and working together, they quickly begin to feel that same sense of excitement and belonging. The culture of curiosity and encouragement in our classroom helps every student feel comfortable learning and growing together.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting additions has been the beakers. The students absolutely love using them during our science activities. Something as simple as using real lab equipment helps them feel like real scientists. Many of them proudly say that they feel like \"college students\" when they are measuring, mixing, and observing their experiments with the beakers. It adds a sense of authenticity to our lessons and helps students imagine themselves continuing to learn and explore science as they grow older.\r\n\r\nMoments like these remind us how important it is to give students opportunities to experience learning in active and meaningful ways. Your donation has helped create those moments in our classroom. Each time a student smiles while conducting an experiment, asks a thoughtful question, or excitedly shares a discovery with their classmates, we are reminded that your generosity is making a real difference.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and supporting their education. Your contribution helps nurture a love of science, curiosity about the world, and confidence in learning. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for helping us create a classroom where students can explore, experiment, and discover the joy of science together.","fullyFundedDate":1768944809184,"projectUrl":"project/super-scientists-explore/10043411/","projectTitle":"Super Scientists Explore!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gamboa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9352292"},{"teacherId":8188470,"projectId":10005645,"letterContent":"The new hands‑on STEM centers and guided reading books have already made a wonderful impact on my kindergarten students. As soon as I introduced the new materials, their faces lit up with surprise and excitement. They were eager to explore, touch, read, build, and discover—showing an immediate boost in engagement and curiosity.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped deepen their learning by giving them opportunities to work collaboratively, problem‑solve, and build early literacy skills in a meaningful, joyful way. Their enthusiasm has reminded me just how powerful hands‑on learning can be.\r\n\r\nMy next steps are to continue expanding these opportunities by gradually introducing all of the independent science centers as each new unit appears in FOSS. There were papers everywhere, even though they had tubs and some folders to keep them in. They obviously needed a 3 ring binder to keep everything in one place. Since getting the binders and pocket dividers there is less of a mess and work is not getting lost. The chair pouches allow them to have their material right there so there is less wandering around the room. The privacy folders have helped students focus on their work so there are no wandering eyes. The pencil sharpener has been a great gift since they had already broken two electric pencil sharpeners. Now we have a system for sharpening pencils so hopefully this electrical sharpener will last us till the end of the year or longer. \r\nThe students were really happy and grateful for all the supplies. They were really excited to use the three ring binders and the pocket dividers. They noticed how much cleaner and organized their desks and cubbies are. Now they are able to find their work and they are able to put things await much faster. \r\nWe thank you so much for investing in our classroom. As we continue on to the next science unit on Light and Sound, we will use many of these materials to explore and understand the concept of lights and sounds. These materials have helped students stay organized, become independent learners, and more excited about their learning. \r\n\r\nFrom the moment we saw the materials, we had so much excitement for learning!
