On behalf of my students and myself at Elk Meadows Elementary School, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support and contributions. Your donations have made a significant impact on our classroom, particularly in supporting students with exceptional learning needs.\r\n\r\nThe hands-on activities that your donations have facilitated are especially powerful. These activities foster independence, boost confidence, and encourage active exploration. As my students interact with varied learning objects, they build essential skills in problem-solving, coordination, and self-regulation. This comprehensive growth is invaluable and is reflected in their increased enthusiasm for learning.\r\n\r\nUltimately, the resources you have provided help create an inclusive and stimulating environment that supports individual development and lifelong learning. My partner and I get to teach all of the kids at our school. Every 45 minutes we get another class coming in teaching kindergartners through 6th grade. The kids tell me all the time that this is their favorite class and it's because they get to be creative, no wrong answers and they discover more of their strengths and the things that they are good at. \r\nThe funded makerspace becomes a shared hub where students can collaborate, showcase projects and celebrate creativity. By providing durable materials and reusable tools, the grant creates a long-term resource. Maker materials help connect science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in authentic projects, such as desiging and building. We have about 6 reward days throughout the year and these are the days many of the kids choose the makerspace hub and it's so great to be able to keep this makerspace hub alive with the great materials.\r\nThe headphones that we received allow the kids to focus with their chromebooks on their coding and typing projects. I've been teaching typing for 15 years and this year I have a 6th grader who types over 100 wpm - so exciting - and I have a lot of girls discovering coding for the first time and that they like it. \r\nThank you again for your support and for the Donor's Choose program.
