My classroom is in a portable which is quite a distance away from the main school. My students, who are largely hispanic ELL students, lose valuable class time going in and out of the building when they need to get a drink. Other classrooms in the buildings have water fountains in each room and I believe my 5th grade students deserve the same. My students deserve cold water after recess and throughout their day to keep them refreshed and engaged in their learning. Many students forgo being hydrated as they do not want to miss class. By providing a water cooler in the classroom my students can focus more on their learning.
