As expected, some items \"walk out\" of the room, resulting in the need to refresh the supply on a fairly regular basis. But \"distraction boxes\" have truly been a huge success. Students have ownership of their boxes, and can be somewhat territorial about the contents of their table's box.\r\n\r\nMoving into the 2nd semester of our cell phone free classroom, we had a better idea of what we found most rewarding about our boxes; namely, word searches, more play dough, and reinforcement for our Uno supply. Each little was presented a gift by Santa and Mrs. Claus. These gifts were donated by the high school students. \r\n There were 2 parties of 40-45 Kindergarteners and about 100 high school students and volunteers. It does take an army. The preparations for the party took months and your donations enabled us to focus on the presents and fun.
