This detailed and engaging story, told partly through illustrations, will give my students much needed practice speaking and writing academic English! Working our way through The Invention of Hugo Cabret will give students an exciting story to analyze in a fun way! We will discuss story elements such as the setting (behind a grand clock in a Paris railroad station), connect to history and inventions (making cross-curricular connections), and finish our unit by creating our own illustrated story! I can hardly wait to see the looks on my students' faces as they open this award-winning book and dive into this stunning world!

About my class
