My students need to have an assigned space where they can sit and regulate their bodies without their personal space being invaded. This particular carpet came with colored circles that are the perfect size for a seated child. This has helped our classroom run smoothly. If I call the students to the carpet they know their spot and they feel secure knowing that this space is their own.\r\n\r\nThis carpet has also helped build our classroom community. As mentioned, students have assigned carpet spots and are seated in a circular formation allowing every students to be a part of the group. Sharing their ideas with the whole class or with a partner has been so seamless with this seating arrangement. Sharing out is a huge part of our day and this carpet has been the vehicle allowing this to happen with ease.\r\n\r\nThe classroom has really come together with a carpet for our meeting area and main focal point. Before this, students were sitting on the cold tile floor We use the carpet multiple times a day when the class meets as a whole group and having a comfortable, aesthetically calming and reliable space for my students to sit and learn means so much to me. \r\n\r\nMany of our students have a lot of struggles at home and I love providing them with a safe comfortable space when they are here at school. They deserve the very best and with your kindness you have helped me design this space that makes our classroom \r\nfeel like home. The soccer balls, training tools, pinnies, water bottles, socks, and organizational supplies immediately created a sense of excitement and pride among our students. For many of our students, having access to quality equipment can make the difference between simply participating in an activity and feeling like they are truly part of a team. Seeing students eagerly gather around the new equipment, choose their pinnies, and get ready to practice was such a rewarding moment. They were excited to try the new equipment and even more excited to know that members of our community believed in them and wanted to support their success.\r\n\r\nWe are using the new resources during soccer practice. Students are working on fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control, footwork, and coordination. The additional soccer balls allow students to spend more time practicing instead of waiting for a turn, while the pinnies make it easier to organize students into teams for drills, small-sided games, and scrimmages. The soccer kick trainers also give students opportunities to work independently and focus on improving specific skills. We have been able to create more stations and small-group activities so that students remain active and engaged throughout our practices. The water bottles have been especially helpful in allowing us to reinforce the importance of hydration and healthy habits while students are participating in physical activity. The drawstring bags and mesh ball bag have also helped us keep our equipment organized and make it easier to transport everything we need for practices and games.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful moments has been watching students encourage one another when a teammate is learning a new skill or struggling with a challenging drill. Students are beginning to understand that being a successful team is about much more than how many goals are scored. They are learning to communicate, cooperate, show sportsmanship, persevere when something is difficult, and celebrate the accomplishments of their teammates. I have also seen students who were initially hesitant become more confident as they practice and experience success. These moments have helped us build a stronger sense of belonging and school pride.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building on these skills and give students more opportunities to apply what they have learned during organized games and scrimmages. We will continue focusing on teamwork, leadership, communication, sportsmanship, and perseverance while encouraging students to take pride in representing our school. Ultimately, we want our students to carry these lessons beyond the soccer field and understand that effort, teamwork, and supporting others are important in every part of life.
