In an effort to implement mindful teaching techniques, I would like to purchase materials that can support student learning. Mindfulness can contribute to greater cognitive and performance skills, increase attention, decreases impulsivity, allow for greater focus, think in more creative and innovative ways, raises self-reflection, increases problem solving skills, assists with conflict resolution and helps one live in the moment, not dwelling on the past or being anxious about the future. Some of the materials I will purchase with your donations such as Mindfulness based literature for student reading, Reflective Writing Journals and Mindfulness activities cards can help create a calming space for each of my students . With these materials they will have tools that can help them discover, reflect, practice and experience the many possibilities mindfulness can bring into their life.
