My students tend to not listen to their bodies when they're playing or doing PE. By the time they reach my office, most have heat exhaustion and are on the border of heat stroke. Having the igloo for water and having hydration packets to replenish their electrolytes has bought me great relief. I have tried to obtain an igloo for the health office in the past to put outside when students are in the heat. Now I have succeeded and hope to decrease the number of health office visits that heat related. These students are becoming more involved in school activities, learning how to operate equipment, frame shots, edit media, and contribute creatively to our athletic programs. The snacks have also helped students feel welcomed and cared for, especially those who arrive upset, anxious, or hungry. Many students smiled with excitement when they first saw the new resources and immediately asked when they could use them again.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our counseling office is now a space where students feel comfortable learning emotional regulation, building confidence, and practicing positive social skills.
