The additional classroom supplies are helping us build a stronger and more organized music program where every student has access to the materials they need to succeed. We are using the funded resources to support instrument practice, music reading, and ensemble rehearsals. A special moment happened during class when students were able to rehearse together more confidently because they had the proper supplies in front of them. Instead of sharing limited materials, students were able to focus on rhythm, harmony, and teamwork while preparing a performance piece as a full ensemble.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were excited and grateful. Many of them immediately wanted to explore the supplies and begin using them in rehearsal. Their enthusiasm was clear as they asked questions, handled the materials carefully, and expressed appreciation for having new resources in the classroom. Several students commented that the classroom felt more professional and inspiring. Seeing their excitement reminded me how meaningful it is for students to have access to quality tools that show their education and talents are valued.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students are to continue using these resources as we work on our current performance repertoire and develop stronger musicianship skills. We are focusing on improving ensemble balance, listening skills, and confidence while performing traditional mariachi selections. Students will also continue practicing proper technique on guitar, vihuela, guitarrón, and other instruments while learning to work together as a complete group.
