My students were visibly excited to see these whiteboards, as they have used them in other classes. Students seemed to really enjoy the ability to share ideas in a low stakes setting, and engage in much deeper, more active conversations with their peers without the lingering anxiety of getting a \"wrong answer\" permanently marked on paper.\r\n\r\nWe started using the Whiteboards on DAY 1 of the school year, using them to set a collaborative tone for our room:\r\n- Classroom Safety Rules: Instead of reading a standard syllabus, lab groups worked together on their boards to sketch out lab safety scenarios and visually represent proper safety protocols.\r\n- Differentiating Types of Matter: Very soon we plan to jump into core chemistry by having students draw particle diagrams to represent pure elements, compounds, and mixtures. Side-by-side at their tabletop boards, students will actively debate how to draw bonded atoms versus loose mixtures, erasing and adjusting their models in real time as they talk through the concepts.\r\n\r\nEven though it is very early on in the school year, we are thrilled to use these whiteboards on a regular basis to share ideas and make thinking visible and we are so thankful to have the opportunity to use these boards to show our thinking. Your generosity is making a meaningful difference in our classroom. The supplies and snacks from this project are helping my students feel prepared, supported, and ready to learn each day.\r\n\r\nOne of the most appreciated parts of this project has been having snacks available for students who need a little extra boost during the school day. For some students, being able to grab a snack when they are hungry makes a real difference in their ability to focus, participate, and stay engaged. I have seen students come into class tired or distracted, have a snack, and then be ready to participate in the lesson and work alongside their classmates. \r\n\r\nWe are continuing to use the classroom supplies for hands-on activities, creative projects, and collaborative work. The markers, glue, scissors, and other materials allow students to participate fully without worrying about whether they have the supplies they need. The storage bins are also helping us keep everything organized and accessible so students can find what they need and get right to work.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students. During a recent lesson on difficult themes in literature, several students used the space to collect their thoughts after reading emotionally challenging content. They were able to return to class feeling calmer and more prepared to participate in discussion and learning.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited and appreciative when they saw the new materials. Many immediately recognized that the space was designed with their well-being in mind. Several students commented that it made them feel supported and that they liked having a place where they could reset when they were feeling overwhelmed or distracted.\r\n\r\nAs we continue reading and discussing complex texts, students will use the Reset and Refocus space as a tool for practicing self-regulation and emotional awareness. Our goal is to help students develop strategies they can use independently, both in school and beyond. By learning how to manage stress, refocus their attention, and persevere through challenges, they are building skills that will support their success in future academic, career, and personal endeavors.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible.
