The senior to freshman mentor program is a valuable leadership opportunity for 12th graders and an important piece of the transition to high school for 9th graders. This program pairs seniors and freshmen together on a year long partnership. Seniors take part in two days of leadership training over the summer. The pens, folders, and sticky notes will be used to organize seniors' training materials. This training helps students develop their leadership and public speaking skills and prepares them to lead Freshmen Orientation. There they will lead several team building activities including a balloon pop game.
This year we would like to add a school spirit painting activity to brighten our campus AND help build collaborative and creative relationships. We have several very large rocks around campus that can be used as Spirit Rocks. Mentor groups can request paint supplies to paint these rocks to advertise for clubs and activities, spread positive messages, or express creativity. Additionally, we would like to start chalking our sidewalks before important events to spread a positive atmosphere.
