Many of my students struggle to sit a traditional chair all period (85 minutes), these same students struggle to focus for long periods of time. By providing students with flexible seating options, they can bounce on the balance bar, wobble on the wobble chair, they can kick the bands on a traditional seat, or choose to sit on the mat with a clipboard to work on their assignment. By providing flexible seating options, they have additional outlets (in addition to fidget toys) to fidget and move while still being productive. My goal for this project is to obtain various flexible seating options for my students. I hope to purchase (1) set of (5) stools, (4) wobble chairs, (4) balance balls, (1) set of foam mats, and (1) set of 10 kick bands. I have researched and seen the effect of offering students flexible seating. I look forward to seeing how flexible seating can improve my students focus and ability to accomplish great things in the classroom.
