My tennis team is in dire need of new equipment. Currently we have five tennis courts without any scorekeepers, one broken tennis ball hopper, and no team outerwear apparel. Due to tight budget constraints and the minimal funding received by our schools, ordering these necessities is not an option. Last season we managed with old, damaged equipment but this season I'd like to provide my girls with the equipment they deserve to improve play and team camaraderie. Tennis ball hoppers will be used at practice for drills and play by the 25 members of the team. These hoppers will also allow for easy storage of tennis balls compared to our current method: storing balls in tennis backpacks and shopping bags. Scorekeepers, which will be used on all five courts during home matches, will provide players will an observable manipulative for score keeping, greatly decreasing the number of disagreements between opponents on score. It will also allow for coaches and parents to follow game play without interfering with players during the match. Team windbreakers will help my players not only stay warm during cold weather matches, but also help us look like a team. During the first half of the season, it is very windy at our home court and the temperature usually does not break 55 degrees. My players are either forced to play in their tank top uniforms, or forfeit the team uniform and wear any sweatshirt they have, often not even in the school colors. These windbreakers will help keep my players comfortable during competitive play in our school colors! Any and all support would be greatly appreciated by my players and myself!
