The students were beyond excited to receive them, and they have already become a favorite part of our reading and learning time. Your kindness and generosity help make learning fun, meaningful, and memorable for our young readers.\r\n\r\nThese sticker books are the perfect addition to our animal reading unit. Throughout this unit, students are learning about different kinds of animals, their habitats, diets, body features, and behaviors. We are also practicing important reading skills such as asking questions, finding key details, identifying nonfiction text features, and making connections between books and real-life animals. The colorful pictures, fun facts, and interactive stickers in the National Geographic books help bring all of these lessons to life in an exciting way.\r\n\r\nThe students especially love being able to explore real photographs of animals from around the world. Seeing these animals up close encourages curiosity and sparks wonderful classroom conversations. Many students are already sharing new facts they have learned with their classmates and families. The sticker books make students feel like real animal scientists and researchers while still allowing them to have fun.\r\n\r\nOne example of how these books connect to our reading unit is when we study animal habitats. Recently, we read a nonfiction book about polar bears and the Arctic. Students learned that polar bears live in icy, snowy regions and depend on sea ice to hunt for food. After reading, students used the sticker books to find Arctic animals and compare them to animals from warmer habitats like jungles or deserts. They noticed differences in fur, color, and body features that help animals survive in their environments. This hands-on activity helped students better understand the information from the books while keeping them engaged and excited about learning.\r\n\r\nAnother exciting connection is during our lessons on nonfiction text features. The National Geographic sticker books include labels, captions, headings, and photographs, which are all important nonfiction features we are learning to identify and use. Students practice using these features to learn new information and answer questions about animals. The books also help build vocabulary by introducing students to words such as \"habitat,\" \"camouflage,\" \"predator,\" and \"endangered.\" These are big words for first graders, but the visuals and interactive elements help make the meanings easier to understand.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these books inspire a love of reading and learning. When children are excited about a topic, they become more confident readers and eager learners. The sticker books encourage students to explore nonfiction texts independently, ask thoughtful questions, and share what they discover with others. It is wonderful to see their enthusiasm grow each day.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your thoughtful support of our classroom. Donations like these help create engaging learning experiences that students will remember long after the school year ends. Your generosity not only provides valuable resources, but it also shows our students that their learning is important and supported by caring people.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping make our animal reading unit such a success. The National Geographic Sticker Books have already brought so much joy, excitement, and learning into our classroom, and we truly appreciate your kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1776523503550,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-with-nat-geo-sticker-b/10112493/","projectTitle":"Hands-on Learning with Nat Geo Sticker Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rugg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5132388_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1537032904759","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/courtney-shepard"},{"teacherId":5240504,"projectId":9442494,"letterContent":"This was a fantastic project!
