My first graders were so excited to model for pictures and share their excitement.\r\n\r\nLittle hands used strong muscles to uncover the scents of the lip balms. Laughter was heard as the students guessed the flavor of each lip balm. We really didn't expect to have it funded so quickly! Thank you! With this new updated ipad we have been able to share it amongst the students. \r\n\r\nI have also been able to use it when I'm working with my students in small groups to take notes and keep track of their progress as I am checking their independent work. \r\n\r\nWe are also using the ipad to sign out our new library books. Your support has provided them with their very own water bottles, but more importantly, it has opened the door to creativity, hands-on learning, and the development of valuable new skills. \r\n\r\nWhen the students received their water bottles, they were thrilled to have something that belonged to them personally. We are currently learning how to use the Cricut machine, and for many students, this is their first exposure to this type of technology. \r\n\r\nEach student is actively involved in the creative process from start to finish. They begin by choosing the color of vinyl they want to use. Next, they select the font they want for their names. These decisions allow students to express themselves while also building confidence in their ability to make creative choices.\r\n\r\nOnce the designs are ready, they are taught how to weed the vinyl, a skill that requires patience, focus, and attention to detail. Although it can be challenging at first, students take great pride in mastering this step. Finally, they apply their designs to their water bottles.\r\n\r\nThroughout this process, students are developing more than just technical skills. They are learning problem-solving, perseverance, and creativity. They are also gaining experience with tools and technology that can inspire future interests in design, engineering, or entrepreneurship.
