It is that time of the day that all students love...RECESS! When the doors open to the school yard, you expect to see the smiles and hear the laughter of happy children. But instead, you notice the students just standing around due to the lack of materials to play with and hear the arguments that ensue over the one ball among 50 children. My students need the resources to help them stay physically fit. Did you know that recess makes kids smarter? Research shows that when children have recess, they gain the following benefits: *Are less fidgety and more on task *Have improved memory and more focused attention *Develop more brain connections *Learn negotiation skills *Exercise leadership, teach games, take turns, and learn to resolve conflicts *Are more physically active before and after school Your donations will help make recess fun again. These children need recess. It benefits every aspect of their childhood development—physical development, of course, but also social, emotional and intellectual development as well.
