I still can remember the smiles on their faces when they were introduced to the weighted huggable friends. We are learning about animals and so the bat and the snake are perfect for with our theme! The impact has been measurable. Our little friends with hyperactivity and inattention have benefited from the fact that their needs are normalized and accommodated with not just 1 but many tools for choices and agency. I have been a big reduction in these students getting out of their seats during whole group instruction. And because everyone in the classroom can use these tools as needed, there is a sense of shared responsibility as well as empathy when one friend hands another friend the weighted heart or trade the seat cushion. It is a loving community in action!\r\n\r\nNot only are the tools relevant to our social emotional curriculum, the sensory rich literacy tools are helping some of my highest needs students make considerable gains in grade-level writing and phonics skills. Because of you, my students now have access to engaging games and hands-on materials that support learning, creativity, and meaningful social interaction.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the board and card games, students have been using them during free time and as part of small-group activities. Games like Uno, Scrabble, Checkers, Hangman, and the dart board have encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students work together to strategize during a game of Checkers, respectfully taking turns and cheering each other on. These resources have provided a healthy break from screen time while still keeping students actively learning.\r\n\r\nThe loom band kits have been an especially exciting addition to our classroom. Students were thrilled when they first saw the materials and immediately began brainstorming designs. They've been creating bracelets and other designs that reflect their personalities, which has boosted their confidence and creativity. I've noticed students sharing ideas, helping one another troubleshoot patterns, and taking pride in their finished creations.\r\n\r\nThe cleaning supplies you provided have also played an important role in maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment. We regularly use the Lysol products to clean the games and shared materials, ensuring everything stays sanitized as students use them throughout the day. This has allowed us to enjoy these resources responsibly and consistently.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our next steps include continuing to incorporate these games into lessons that focus on teamwork, decision-making, and social skills. Students are also using the loom bands as part of creative challenges and reward-based activities tied to classroom goals. Your generosity has truly made an impact, and you've given my students opportunities to learn, connect, and grow in ways that go beyond the screen. The magnetic manipulatives have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom. During mini-lessons, I use them to model problem-solving strategies, and students now have hands-on access during morning math talks, math instruction, and math share time. This has led to richer discussions, deeper thinking, and greater engagement as students explain their reasoning to one another.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were immediately excited and eager to use them. Many were quick to explore the clocks, fraction tiles, and measuring tools, asking thoughtful questions and making connections to prior learning. The manipulatives have made math feel more accessible, interactive, and fun.\r\nWith these resources, students are learning to represent their thinking in multiple ways such as using models, drawings, and tools, while building a strong foundation that moves from concrete understanding to abstract reasoning. The dry erase markers and flip chart markers are already being used to capture student thinking on anchor charts, which we revisit and build upon during future lessons.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom is now a more collaborative, engaging, and supportive math environment where students feel empowered to take ownership of their learning. We now use the bins daily to organize our classroom library by genre, which has made independent reading time more purposeful and exciting. Students can quickly find books that match their interests, and many are exploring new genres they might not have chosen before. One special moment was watching students help each other return books to the correct bins and proudly recommend titles to classmates. It created a true sense of ownership over our library.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions said it all. They were excited by the bright, colorful bins and couldn't wait to sort the books together. Several students commented on how \"official\" and \"fun\" the library looked. The mechanical pencils were also a big hit. Students were relieved to have consistent, reliable supplies, which allowed them to focus on responding to reading prompts and comprehension questions without interruption.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom now feels more welcoming, organized, and student-centered.
