Having a reliable piano has made such a difference during our choral rehearsals. Instead of relying on limited or inconsistent accompaniment, I can now play parts, model melodies, and accompany students as they learn new songs. One of my favorite moments has been hearing students sing with much more confidence when they hear the piano supporting their voices. They are learning to listen carefully, match pitch, follow musical cues, and experience what it feels like to create a full musical sound together.\r\n\r\nWhen the piano first arrived, my students were incredibly excited! Many of them immediately wanted to see and hear it and were amazed that we had a brand-new instrument in our classroom. It was especially exciting for students who had never had the opportunity to sing regularly with live piano accompaniment. The piano has become an important part of our rehearsal routine, and students are beginning to understand how much an expressive accompaniment can add to a performance.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue preparing our current repertoire for upcoming performances and school events. Students are working on singing with greater confidence, improving their pitch accuracy, learning harmonies, and developing their ability to perform as an ensemble. We are also looking forward to bringing the piano into our larger school performances so that students can share the music they have worked so hard to create with our entire school community. We love our new colorful clipboards, and it has helped me organize groups and assignments!\r\n\r\nThe brand new dry erase materials were the biggest hit! We got rid of the extra ones that we had in the classroom that had permanent stains on them. We also tossed the old markers that were barely working!
