My students need 234 books, both fiction and non-fiction, and 24 soft seats to launch our amazing book club! As they currently read at four different levels, they will find books that match their reading abilities and interest. The class will be divided into four heterogeneous reading groups. Each group will read and discuss one of the books, first within the group; then, with the whole class. As such, the class will have a chance to read and discuss several books, from different reading levels at the same time. Please help me to set my students on a path of lifelong learning! When students practice cooperative reading, they build their background knowledge about different subjects, improve reading fluency and comprehension, and create a love of reading that will positively influence them throughout their lives.
