These building materials, seating, and toys will help my students learn to the best of their abilities. As sensory-seekers, they need specialized seating to help them engage. Wobble seats and cushions let them wiggle and receive sensory input in a non-distracting manner so they can pay attention and learn! The materials I am seeking are hands-on and colorful to promote interest and engagement. The students in my classroom are diagnosed with autism, so need specialized materials and instruction to access curriculum and leaning experiences. Magnetic and click-together materials eliminate frustration of perfectly aligning blocks. This allows my students to play freely with their peers while eliminating potential triggers. White boards allow us to differentiate lessons and provide each student with individualized instruction and access. The baskets will help these toys have a home in our space in a manner that is calming and organized while allowing students to take responsibility of these materials.
