My students are loving playing with all these new toys used to work on their fine motor skills.\r\n\r\nI have one student in particular that I want to tell you about. This student is in a primary autism classroom. He takes a while to adjust to new faces and every time I would come into his classroom for occupational therapy sessions he would crawl away in the opposite direction. No matter what toys I brought in it would be the same thing each session. A few weeks ago, I brought in the jungle rescue fine motor game and one other toy just to see if that day would be the day he felt comfortable to play. Not only did he come to the table, but he was focused and enjoyed playing and he continued to engage for the entire session. Now when I come into the classroom, he's excited to play with any toys and worksheets I bring in to help him succeed on his IEP goals. For this student alone, your donation has made a huge impact. \r\n\r\nMy other students have been loving the new toys. A few favorites are the stencils and the many options to choose from. Afterwards we use the legiliners to give them space to write about the pretty picture they just made. They are proud of their work and love showing their teachers and bringing something home to show their family. The students have also been enjoying the musical instruments as well as the Simon memory game. I often set up obstacle courses as well which the students love.
