The gift of an iPad will allow my students to continue learning on the go! One of my goals this year is to help my students learn the values of responsibility by holding them accountable for grading and evaluating their own homework. One of our class jobs is Homework Helper. The student who holds this job is responsible for walking around to each student and checking their homework and recording if it is done or not done. An iPad would be perfect for this scenario because it would allow my Homework Helper to easily keep track of the student's homework on a spreadsheet. In return, the Homework Helper is learning how to work with and understand spreadsheets as well as learning how to interpret the data on the spreadsheet.
The benefits that one single iPad would bring to my classroom is endless! As their teacher, I want to give them access to modern day technology so that my students can remain academically competitive with the rest of the world. An iPad would also allow my students in Intervention groups the chance to work with technology up close. My students would be able to use the iPad to research topics discussed in small groups, read news articles, highlight key information and details in real-time, and submit work for immediate feedback. My students would thrive if given the opportunity to learn with this technology!
