My students absolutely loved planting the seedlings and watching them grow. My kindergarteners learned all about the parts of a plant, and what each part does, and they were able to see them up close and then watch them grow. Students in every grade level ooh-ed and ahh-ed every time they came in on a Monday to see the growth of the plants.\r\n\r\nOn our harvesting day, many students tried new foods, and some of them even liked them! The kids were so excited to be able to take home some of the herbs to their families and were talking all about using the cilantro and green onions for Taco Tuesday. \r\n\r\nI am truly grateful for your generosity and the positive impact it will have on my students.","fullyFundedDate":1758752321278,"projectUrl":"project/let-us-grow-with-lettuce-grow/9746561/","projectTitle":"Let Us Grow With Lettuce Grow!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Childers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp227564_orig.png?crop=802,802,x8,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1593442721528","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msridge"},{"teacherId":227564,"projectId":9870503,"letterContent":"You have no idea the impact that the timing of this donation had on the families of my students. Food insecurity was recently at an all time high, and because of your generosity, we were able to distribute almost 50 bags of food to hungry kids and their families.\r\n\r\nI shared a picture of just a few of the many responses I received. Because of you, my students had full book bags and full bellies. They also had the knowledge that their community values and cares about them. The materials for my calm down corner have been so helpful when students are having a hard day and have promoted additional participation within my room.\r\n\r\nSome students come in after a hard day and need to calm down for a moment to improve their ability to learn. The soft flower pillows and the breathing dog toy have been helpful in helping my students reset and become more successful. My students love that the dog breathes with them and it is a great model for taking deep breaths. When they are overwhelmed or distracted, they enjoy using the stress balls to calm down and focus. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, my students love to use the calm down corner to read. They love to sit on the pillows for flexible seating; with some groups, sitting in the calm down corner is even a reward. The kids love the coloring book and all of the sensory toys. It has been a game-changer to increase participation and is a cozy place to read and learn.","fullyFundedDate":1734986240689,"projectUrl":"project/the-calm-down-cove/8703746/","projectTitle":"The Calm Down Cove","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Allen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9706880"},{"teacherId":9076811,"projectId":7445768,"letterContent":"My second grade students are now able to sit in a comfortable spot to see the board more clearly!
