Being a first year teacher, I'm working on building my ideal classroom. My class currently does not have a rug for our whole group meeting area. My students will be forced to sit on the cold, hard floor during our whole group meeting times. Sitting on a cold, hard floor can be very uncomfortable. The purpose of this project is to provide a comfortable sitting area for my students. My goal this school year is to make my classroom a warm, welcoming, and safe learning environment for my students to come and forgetting about whatever may be going on in their home life. Having this rug will help towards my goals of making our classroom safe and comfortable while we learn and grow.
