The second we plugged in the new fan and set up the decor, one student looked around and said, \"It feels like a cozy café in here now!\" They were even hyped about having fresh cleaning supplies on hand so they could keep their favorite reading spots looking sharp.\r\n\r\nHaving a cool, clean space made an immediate difference during a recent research project with our 11th graders. On a warm afternoon, the fan kept the room comfortable so everyone could focus on their work instead of melting in the heat. Between the fresh air, organized supplies, and updated look, the library instantly became the spot where students actually wanted to hang out and get work done.\r\n\r\nNext up, our students are using the refreshed space to build a peer book-review display to share their favorite reads with the rest of the school. During a recent cross-curricular STEM project, students designed, calibrated, and printed custom replacement gears and structural components for small robotics builds. Instead of just studying engineering concepts on a screen, they got to hold their own physical designs, test their durability, and make real-time adjustments. The new filament gave them the exact hands-on experience they needed to see their ideas come to life.\r\n\r\nNext up, our makerspace creators are working on a collaborative project to design and print customized assistive devices, like ergonomic pencil grips and page-turners, to donate to local elementary classrooms. They noticed also the classroom was something new because of the boarders design. They were excited to use the fresh supplies, and their enthusiasm was evident as they carefully organized their work and proudly shared their solutions with the class.
