The use of rosin, metronome and strings is almost a daily activity in the orchestra classroom. What becomes a problem is the fact that rosin is very delicate and never seems to last, tuners often disappear or stop working, and strings slowly unravel and break from frequent use. We would not be able to have a functioning orchestra with out these essential tools. Students must rosin their bow on a daily basis because with out rosin their instrument would produce no sound. The tuners are also a must; before they get to play their instrument they need to fine tune their strings so they can create beautiful music. And strings are a necessity as it is part of of their instrument. By having access to these three essential items, my students will be able to create and play wonderful music everyday and ultimately share their music playing with their family and friends!
