Students have been able to immerse themselves in the role of photographers and student journalists by capturing meaningful moments throughout our school community. The cameras have been especially beneficial during Magnet performances, school events, and other campus activities, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with photography, videography, and event coverage. This opportunity has strengthened their technical skills while also teaching them how visual media can be used to document, promote, and tell the story of our school and Magnet programs.\r\n\r\nMy students were especially excited about learning how to independently operate the cameras and take their work from beginning to end. They learned how to adjust camera settings for different lighting conditions, capture indoor and outdoor photography, record video footage, transfer files from the cameras, and edit their own media. Seeing students become increasingly comfortable with the equipment has been rewarding because they are not only learning photography skills, but also developing confidence, independence, creativity, and practical technology skills that can be used beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nHaving access to this technology has opened the door for students to explore photography and media in a way that feels authentic and meaningful. They are able to see how the skills they learn in the classroom connect to real careers in photography, journalism, videography, and digital media.
