My students need an iPad to explore the insides of an actual beehive digitally. We have located actual, live bee cameras and want to visit first hand. Since this is an experience that I cannot give my students live, using technology can help them. We are in need of a tablet to get this done. Beginning a unit on insects starts with exploration so my students can firsthand, explore the life cycle of bees and other winged insects. The iPad will allow me to take these fifth graders to the next level. STEAM learning means integrating subject areas into applicable experiences. This iPad will take science into math; it takes art into reading; it creates moments for literacy through all of it. This resource would mean that my students could go beyond the classroom and grow as future scientists.
