My students were excited to see the collection of AP Physics C Mechanics and Physics 1 practice books, as well as an amazing set of children's books that bring complex topics like quantum physics to life in such an accessible and engaging way. As a science teacher, one of my goals is to help students not just learn formulas and theories, but to truly connect with the subject and reading plays a powerful role in that journey. Many of our students don't have access to these kinds of books at home, as they can be a bit expensive for some families. Now, they have the chance to dive into high-quality study materials and approachable, creative texts right in our classroom.\r\nEven though it's only the first week back, I've already seen how excited the students are. They've been borrowing the practice books to take home and study, eager to get a head start on mastering the material. It's amazing to see that level of motivation, especially knowing that these resources were made possible by donors like you. The children's books have sparked an entirely different kind of enthusiasm. My students were instantly drawn to them, and many were surprised by how effectively these books simplify difficult physics concepts while still being fun. They're now inspired and looking forward to our project in which they get to create their own children's books to teach physics. \r\nIn our classroom, reading isn't just about comprehension it is also about curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity. Whether they're preparing for college-level physics exams or exploring new ways to explain energy and motion, my students are growing into thinkers and strong communicators. Your support didn't just provide books. It opened doors and my students and I are so grateful. As we continue to grow our classroom library, I look forward to seeing more young minds light up with the joy of learning and a big part of that is thanks to you!","fullyFundedDate":1749764781453,"projectUrl":"project/physics-is-lit/9227281/","projectTitle":"Physics is LIT","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sanchez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7860909_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1620850676431","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sanchj5"},{"teacherId":328084,"projectId":9058180,"letterContent":"I used the resources by laminating interactive deck of cards. This organization helped students to know what they missed and was easy for me to update. Students really liked the design on the tape too. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous donation which helped provide an engaging learning environment for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1736957749696,"projectUrl":"project/health-class-supply-variety/9058180/","projectTitle":"Health Class Supply Variety","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Eichten","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp328084_orig.png?crop=396,396,x0,y1&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1557443529451","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/328084"},{"teacherId":5977633,"projectId":8904840,"letterContent":"The iPad and Apple Pencil have become powerful tools in directly supporting my students' learning in several key ways. The ability to conduct real-time progress monitoring and provide immediate feedback during assessments on the iPad has been transformative. Students are more engaged during these activities, and the instant results allow for immediate clarification and adjustment of their understanding. When we meet to discuss their progress, the visual representation of their data on the iPad makes the information more accessible and less abstract, fostering a deeper understanding of their learning journey and their individual goals. Furthermore, using the iPad to deliver lessons with screen sharing capabilities allows me to present information in a dynamic and interactive manner, catering to different learning styles and keeping students actively involved as I circulate and provide individualized support.\r\n\r\nWithout a doubt, the most exciting aspect of the new technology for my students is the immediacy and interactivity it offers. They are thrilled to take assessments on the iPad, often asking for their results right away and showing genuine interest in the visual data we review together. The Apple Pencil adds another layer of engagement, allowing for more natural and intuitive interaction with educational apps and activities. I've seen particular students who were previously hesitant or disengaged during traditional progress monitoring tasks become much more receptive and even enthusiastic when using the iPad. For instance, one student, who often struggled with the format of paper-based assessments, now approaches iPad-based tasks with confidence and a sense of accomplishment, eagerly awaiting the immediate feedback. Another student, who benefits greatly from visual aids, is now more actively participating in data review meetings, pointing to specific areas on the screen and asking insightful questions.","fullyFundedDate":1739367638713,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-progress-monitoring-for-studen/8904840/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Progress Monitoring for Students with Learning Disabilities through Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Gibbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5977633_orig.jpg?crop=180,180,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730220818867","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5977633"},{"teacherId":328084,"projectId":8942808,"letterContent":"My students loved the new resources! The resources and training made possible through your support have allowed me to enhance my skills in trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and culturally responsive interventions, resulting in meaningful benefits for the students and families I serve.\r\nWith access to therapeutic guidebooks, treatment planners, and research-based workbook materials, I have been able to integrate evidence-based practices into my work. These approaches have significantly improved the support I provide to students. An example of its impact includes students who once struggled to manage emotional outbursts now utilizing self-regulation techniques to cope with stress, creating a more positive classroom environment for themselves and their peers. Through the implementation of grounding and mindfulness exercises, as well as research-based psychotherapeutic tools students are more equipped to manage stress effectively. \r\nRestorative practices have also fostered a stronger sense of community within the school. By facilitating restorative circles and conflict resolution sessions, I have observed students develop healthier communication skills and rebuild relationships after conflicts. This has not only reduced disciplinary issues but also has helped foster a culture of empathy and accountability among students. Additionally, culturally responsive interventions have been instrumental in cultivating inclusive learning environments for those to express themselves. This has encouraged more open dialogue about mental health, enabling students to seek the support they need without hesitation. Overall, the impact of these practices is reflected in the growth and resilience of the students.Your investment in my professional growth has directly enriched the lives of our students, equipping them with tools to thrive emotionally, academically, and socially. In this current school year, I'm frontloading the mechanical parts of math so the class can really focus on more rigorous content later on, such as problem-based learning which requires a combination of reading comprehension and mathematical thinking.\r\n\r\nSoon, I will being to have students read for a few minutes everyday in class, and the kindle will boost the amount of options and make the whole ordeal a little more exciting as students get to test out a new technology they may not have access to normally.
