Because of you, our students were able to fully enjoy each themed day with excitement and joy. We used the snacks during our special activities, like Tasty Tuesday, where children explored food in a fun, hands-on way—counting, sorting, and even creating their own \"snack mixes\" while practicing sharing and communication skills. These simple moments turned into meaningful learning experiences that brought smiles to every child's face.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, their eyes lit up with excitement! For many of them, it made the celebration feel extra special and helped create a warm, joyful classroom environment. They felt cared for and appreciated, which made them even more engaged in our activities throughout the week. It also encouraged social interaction as they practiced gratitude, took turns, and enjoyed treats together.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue building on these experiences by incorporating more hands-on, sensory-based learning opportunities into our lessons. Whether it's using food for counting and sorting, or creating classroom celebrations that bring us together, your support has helped us see how powerful these shared moments can be. Through these texts, students are developing phonemic awareness, rhyming, and early decoding skills. The playful language and repetitive patterns in these books help students recognize word families, build vocabulary, and improve fluency. Additionally, many of the stories incorporate important social-emotional lessons such as kindness, perseverance, and embracing individuality, which spark meaningful discussions in our classroom.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an interactive and joyful experience. We engage in read-alouds where students are encouraged to predict, ask questions, and make connections to their own lives. We also incorporate small group reading and partner reading to support different learning levels. Students love participating in shared reading activities where they can follow along, repeat phrases, and build confidence in their reading abilities. Creating a positive and welcoming reading environment has helped foster a love for books and storytelling.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have shown a particularly strong connection to these new books. Some of our emerging readers are especially drawn to the rhyming and rhythm, which helps them feel successful and excited about reading. Others enjoy revisiting the stories independently, pretending to read and retelling the stories in their own words. It has been incredibly rewarding to see students who were once hesitant about reading now eagerly reaching for books, smiling, laughing, and fully engaged in the experience. These books have truly helped make reading both accessible and enjoyable for all of our learners.","fullyFundedDate":1774963620316,"projectUrl":"project/reading-is-fun/10171205/","projectTitle":"Reading is Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Andrade","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7792151_orig.png?crop=111,111,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770232024529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7792151"},{"teacherId":7792151,"projectId":10063025,"letterContent":"Many of our donors love reading books, but what they may not always see is the intentional teaching that happens behind each page. With engaging texts like those from Dr. Seuss and the *Fly Guy series, students are developing foundational skills such as letter recognition, rhyming, sequencing, and comprehension. These books also introduce important lessons like storytelling structure, making predictions, and building vocabulary, all in a fun and accessible way that keeps students excited about learning.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is active, joyful, and collaborative. You might see us gathered on the carpet for a read-aloud, laughing at a silly rhyme, or pausing to ask questions and make connections. Students practice turning and talking with partners, pointing out sight words, and even retelling stories in their own words. We also encourage students to take books home, where reading continues with their families, helping build consistency and confidence outside of school.\r\n\r\nSome of our students, especially those who are just beginning their reading journey, have shown incredible excitement with these new books. For many, this is the first time they've had books of their own to take home, and that sense of ownership is powerful. Students who were once hesitant are now eager to participate, flipping through pages, recognizing familiar words, and proudly sharing stories with their peers. These moments are a beautiful reminder that access to the right books can truly spark growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1773842775246,"projectUrl":"project/learning-to-read/10063025/","projectTitle":"Learning to Read","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Andrade","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7792151_orig.png?crop=111,111,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770232024529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7792151"},{"teacherId":9005185,"projectId":9701198,"letterContent":"My students were thrilled to receive new toys and games for our classroom!
