Thanks to your donated camcorders, lighting kits, and green screen equipment, our high school students are gaining hands-on experience with professional tools and developing the skills they need to bring their creative visions to life. Within the first three weeks of school, students have been using the camcorders to practice capturing a variety of shot types and camera movements, and they are preparing to create their first major project: a two-minute silent film. They are also learning to use the lighting equipment to craft compelling visual moods and to record clear audio with the microphones you provided. \r\n\r\nMore than 150 students across our video technology and theatre classes benefit from this equipment. These tools not only give them access to digital media creation but also encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving as they navigate new technologies and techniques. \r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support is empowering students to tell meaningful stories, stories that uplift voices from their own communities and shine a light on their peers' experiences. Technology purchases are always hard due to \"sticker shock\". This is true for just about any technology. What is also true is that every new technology opens up new possibilities both in classrooms and later careers.\r\n\r\nIn my Aerospace Engineering course the importance of drone technology is becoming vital in a variety of applications. Career opportunities in recreational, commercial, scientific and military applications are opening constantly. \r\n\r\nThe new drones are a real step up from the basic drones with which we were working. Improved camera quality really improves the \"first person\" flight experience. The video/photo quality is particularly exciting to the kids who are primarily interested in visual art. The side table sits in between and holds the convenient basket of fidgets in the lower level of the side table. We also use the fidgets during instructional time and students know to return them when they are done. \r\n\r\nA cute plush cacti pair also sits on the table offering a sweet reminder that this also serves as a place to connect to others, a notion is mirrored by the two chairs ready to hold two students who wish to connect or to just be. Students can go and take a rest if they are overstimulated or are not feeling their best and color a mandala. They can also use the space to reset and close their eyes and do some breathing or perspective shifting with the tools from the \"Anxiety Toolkit for Teens\" book. Or, they can just set a timer for 5 minutes and just *be.* \r\n\r\nMy favorite part is the quality sound from the speaker system that I am able to project in the background as my students work. The crisp audio creates a focused environment with classical music, binaural beats, and other study beats to encourage mental stimulation and focus during independent work time. I am so grateful that you have helped me create this small oasis of self-care in my classroom. My students truly enjoy it daily, and I finally have a creative, comfy place where students can employ the skills I teach each day.","fullyFundedDate":1733436226473,"projectUrl":"project/cool-and-calm-corner-in-our-room/8556393/","projectTitle":"Cool and Calm Corner in Our Room","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cerniglia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4871379_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1521168824729","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4871379"},{"teacherId":3088680,"projectId":9096282,"letterContent":"This project has been a really cool opportunity for our classroom.
