Transition is a major piece in a student's academic career. At the high school level we are working on preparing students for the rest of their lives. In order to prepare them for their post-secondary transition, we provide students with opportunities to gain work, social, and life skills. Currently not all students have the ability to participate in such opportunities due to the lack of resources and options available. We are creating a coffee shop that will be run by our students with disabilities, to give them a supported opportunity to gain employment, life, and social skills. We already have coffee donations from local roasters and need your help to procure the rest of the materials in order to get the shop up and running, such as cups, an urn, creamers, a grinder and stir sticks. All proceeds that are earned from the project will go back into the special education department to help fund educational activities and transition resources for the students.
