These materials will set us up for success to begin the school year! My students come to school unprepared for instruction, so often pencils, notebook paper, folders are always needed. Having a refrigerator in the classroom will allow the students to have snacks/beverages onsite as many of them specific dietary needs since they eat a late lunch at 1:30 pm. Having art supplies such as markers, crayons, pens, sharpies, colored pencils, paper and glue, will allow students to participate in crafts related to social studies. Also, at times when students need sensory stimulation or re-direction having these supplies available will allow them to focus and relax. Also, in the life skills learning students can be organized by having folders with their names on them so they can keep organized. Also, using magnets will allow the students to change their schedules with the day, which is also important for life skills and independence.
