Not only are they creating, they are learning and growing in ways I never thought possible! \r\n\r\nWe have used the science slides for science and gotten a closer look at plants, animal fur, parts of insects and so much more. We have used items for sensory play, imaginative play and learning in many different ways.\r\n\r\nOur Emotion Spot books and plushies have been used every day! My students love connecting with their emotions and are able to identify and say how they are feeling. Because of your kindness, each of my students now has their very own space to store their school supplies, and they absolutely adore them!\r\n\r\nThe excitement on their faces when we first put them on their chairs was priceless. Having their own pockets has helped them feel a sense of ownership and pride in their materials. They've quickly learned how to care for their belongings and keep their areas neat and tidy, an important skill for first graders who are learning independence and responsibility.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made a difference in our classroom. We just finished reading the book as a class the other day and the students loved it! Every day they would grab their own copy and follow along with me while we read. We all enjoyed it so much. It was many of their first time reading it (many have seen the original cartoon) so they were so surprised to see all the changes between the movie and the book (for there are many!) We are now working on getting our permission slips turned in so we can watch the cartoon altogether to prepare for an ultimate discussion versus the book and movie. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your donation. Getting a classroom set of \"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets\" has made a huge impact for my students. In the past we have always read the first Harry Potter book together, with each student having their own book to follow along with while I read. When we moved on to the second book however, we didn't have a class set of books, and so the students just had to listen while I read aloud to them. Their attention spans wouldn't last, and there was always a difference compared to when we read the first book.\r\n\r\nNow that we have a class set of the second book, I have noticed a huge difference in my students having a physical copy of the book in their hands while I read. They are more focused, and are more engaged in the story. I know that my students being able to see the words as I read them will help increase their reading abilities. I'm so grateful for your support, and am thrilled at the difference these books are making in my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1728002994472,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-set-of-harry-potter-and-the-c/8837634/","projectTitle":"Classroom set of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Perkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7626939_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657576397103","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7626939"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_34119","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1061,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":12,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":81,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 9","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.6,"schoolId":34119,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lakeview Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lakeview Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/utah-department-of-education/lakeview-academy/34119"}
