My students eyes were opened to a new diverse world of yearly new years celebrations. They were preciously not aware that there were so many kinds of celebrations. I was able to show a video of the fishing boats in Vietnam that were painted with detailed designs to celebrate the new year. Students were able to see through the eyes of a child when they read through our story books and it lifted their hearts for family celebrations and traditions. Many of them had wanted to try dishes like mochi which they also discovered is made differently and celebrated differently in Asian cultures. They made Butter Coconut Mochi and Chi Chi Dango Mochi. Students also made oven fried rice for our celebration and were super jazzed that they felt like they could duplicate it at home. They loved the taste, experience and celebration with each other.","fullyFundedDate":1766416803313,"projectUrl":"project/lunar-new-year-celebration/9968752/","projectTitle":"Lunar New Year Celebration","teacherDisplayName":"Teacher Snyder-Renfro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp134985_orig.jpg?crop=588,588,x597,y332&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1597686286229","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/chefcarrie"},{"teacherId":3810151,"projectId":9803773,"letterContent":"Your kindness helps our young athletes train safely and effectively. Another thing we received in our package was a utility wagon; our team manager wanted to personally say \"THANK YOU!\" Following after a team this size is a hassle in itself and our new wagon has taken a load off of everyone's shoulders! We are still working on getting a storage card for the GoPro Camera but our athlete's have already begun creating ideas for themed practices, school spirit activities, and getting microphones to clip to each other during performances. \r\nWhen our packages began to arrive, the team already knew everything was for them. Their excitement in getting to create their own things on the Cricut app and watching them come to life on their own personalized belongings gave me another \"Why?\". They have been excited to get their video content created; so much so that they want to raise money for the memory card themselves so that we can get jumpstarted as soon as possible.
