I am asking for thirty copies of both A Long Walk to Water: Based on a True Story and Number the Stars. A Long Walk to Water and Number the Stars are books based on real people around the middle school age. My students will benefit from these resources by reading about other places in the world and learning about the circumstances facing youth across the globe, specifically limited water resources in Africa and the youth during World War Two. Both are topics I cover in my class and these books are a great way for my students to become a part of the conversation. My students love to learn about people their age across the globe and how these youth face certain circumstances in their lives.
