Many of our students face financial hardships that create barriers to reaching their goals. Sometimes, all they need is that extra bit of support to help them cross the finish line and believe in what is possible for their future.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity have helped remove those barriers. You have shown our students that there are people who believe in them, care about their success, and are willing to invest in their dreams. That encouragement means just as much as the materials themselves.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this opportunity possible. Many of my students come from families where school supplies are considered a luxury, so having fresh, high-quality materials made them feel valued and excited to learn. They immediately began organizing their notebooks, carefully sharpening their pencils with the new sharpener, and proudly using the colorful paper and pencils to create foldables, graphic organizers, and study guides. These resources have encouraged students to take greater pride in their work and participate more confidently during lessons.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these materials will support even more hands-on learning experiences in Algebra and Geometry. Students will continue building interactive notebooks that they can use as study guides and references throughout the year, helping them become more independent learners and better prepared for assessments. We use the snacks daily during independent work time, small group instruction, testing, and classroom discussions. One special moment was seeing students come in excited and relieved knowing they would have something to eat while working through a challenging math lesson. The snacks have helped improve focus, reduce disruptions, and build a stronger sense of community in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, they were genuinely excited and grateful. Several students immediately thanked me and asked who made it possible. For many of them, this project showed that people they have never met still care about their success and well-being. It was heartwarming to see students smiling, helping organize the supplies, and encouraging one another to stay on task so they could enjoy a snack during class. Something as simple as a snack has made students feel seen, valued, and supported.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these resources will help us maintain a positive and productive learning environment. We are used these materials to support activities and projects focused on recognizing acts of kindness, encouraging positive peer interactions, and creating a more welcoming environment for everyone. One special moment was seeing students work together to create kindness messages on rocks for our local VA. \r\n\r\nWhen the student council members first saws the new materials, they were excited and eager to begin. The materials helped make Kindness Week feel extra special and gave students a hands-on way to connect with the important lessons we are learning about empathy, respect, and inclusion.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, our next steps are to continue building on these lessons by having students apply what they have learned in daily classroom activities and school-wide projects. In hip hop, what you wear really affects how you move and perform, and I saw an immediate difference when they put them on. They felt more confident, more connected, and honestly just cooler. It helped them step into the style and take ownership of the choreography in a way they hadn't before. It also created a sense of unity, everyone looked the same, felt the same, and showed up as a team. For some of my students, having something like that provided for them meant a lot. It took away any stress about what to wear and made sure everyone felt included and prepared.\r\n\r\nEven after the performance, the hoodies have continued to mean something. My students wear them around school all the time, and you can tell they're proud to be part of the dance program. It's helped build visibility for what we do and has created a stronger sense of community on campus.\r\n\r\nThe snacks were just as important, honestly. A lot of my students come to dance after a full school day, and some don't always have access to food before practice. Having snacks available made a big difference in their energy and focus. Instead of being distracted or tired, they were able to stay engaged and give their full effort during rehearsals.\r\n\r\nIt also showed them that someone cares about them, not just as dancers, but as people. That kind of support matters more than people realize. It helped create a positive environment where students felt taken care of and motivated to do their best.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project supported my students both artistically and personally.
