Students are using the fidgets and cushions daily to help regulate their emotions and stay focused during lessons, especially during independent work and group discussions. The hygiene products have been quietly but meaningfully impactful—students are able to take care of their personal needs with dignity, which has boosted their confidence and reduced distractions. Snacks have also made a huge difference; students who might otherwise struggle to concentrate due to hunger are now more engaged and energized throughout the day.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were genuinely excited and grateful. Many immediately gravitated toward the flexible seating and fidgets, eager to find what worked best for them. Others expressed relief and appreciation for having access to basic necessities without having to ask or feel self-conscious. It created a powerful moment of community, where students felt seen, supported, and cared for beyond just academics.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students are using these resources to fully engage in classroom projects that require focus, collaboration, and creativity. With barriers to learning reduced, they are better able to participate in discussions, complete assignments, and take academic risks. Our next steps include continuing project-based learning activities where students can apply their skills with confidence, knowing they have the tools and support they need to succeed. Myself and the students have also benefited from being able to write quick notes and ideas in regards to their writing! Letting them each have a space to write things down specifically for varying needs has also better streamlined guided assignments/assessments. \r\nThe fidget roller was the star player though. When the boxes arrived, the energy in the room was electric; there is something uniquely special about students seeing a brand-new stack of books like The Great Gatsby and Persepolis and realizing they are for them to keep and explore. The Spanish editions of these classics have been especially impactful, ensuring that all my learners feel included and empowered to engage with these powerful stories. Beyond the books, the new air purifier has already made our room feel like a much more refreshed, healthy space to spend our day, and having a steady supply of fresh pencils and highlighters means we can dive straight into our lessons without any logistical hurdles.\r\n\r\nThe highlight of the new materials has undoubtedly been the button maker! It has turned our literary analysis into a hands-on creative project where students are designing custom badges to represent key themes and character identities from our readings. Seeing them transition from deep reading to active creation has been a joy, and they are so proud to wear their \"literary flair\" around school. Looking ahead, we plan to use these materials to build a more collaborative and vibrant classroom library where every student feels seen and supported. When the boxes arrived in our classroom, the excitement was palpable! My students were absolutely buzzing with curiosity, and seeing their faces light up as we unpacked the new resources was a moment I won't soon forget. One student even asked, \"Are these really for us to keep using?\" It truly made them feel seen and valued as learners.\r\n\r\nWe have already begun integrating these resources into our daily literacy blocks. Specifically, we've used them to dive deeper into our storytelling unit, where students are using the materials to help bridge the gap between their creative thoughts and their writing. The \"Memories\" aspect of this project has allowed us to document our progress in a way that makes the learning feel permanent and special.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next step is to compile these individual literacy projects into a classroom library collection. The students are currently working on finalizing their work, and they are so proud to see their efforts look professional and polished. Because of your support, our students now have access to laptops and postage supplies that are making a real difference in how they learn and communicate.\r\n\r\nThe laptops are helping students learn by giving them immediate access to tools that allow them to explore math concepts more deeply, work collaboratively, and receive instant feedback on their work. Instead of only working on paper, students can now research topics, create presentations, use online graphing tools, and complete assignments that are more interactive and engaging. The technology also allows students to work at their own pace, revisit lessons, and practice skills in a way that is more personalized to their learning needs.\r\n\r\nThe stamps have also been very exciting for students because we are using them to send letters. Students have been writing letters related to class projects, reflections, and appreciation letters, and they are very excited about the idea that something they wrote will travel through the mail and reach a real person. For many students, this is the first time they have ever sent a letter through the mail, which has made the activity feel very meaningful and real to them.\r\n\r\nSome students in particular have really connected with the laptops because they feel more confident completing assignments digitally than on paper. I have students who are normally very quiet in class but are much more willing to participate when working on the computer, especially when they can create slides or type out their ideas instead of speaking in front of the class. Other students have really enjoyed the letter writing activities and take a lot of pride in carefully writing and preparing something to send in the mail.\r\n\r\nOverall, your donation has helped make learning more interactive, more engaging, and more meaningful for our students.
