Because of your support, our students now have access to laptops and postage supplies that are making a real difference in how they learn and communicate.\r\n\r\nThe laptops are helping students learn by giving them immediate access to tools that allow them to explore math concepts more deeply, work collaboratively, and receive instant feedback on their work. Instead of only working on paper, students can now research topics, create presentations, use online graphing tools, and complete assignments that are more interactive and engaging. The technology also allows students to work at their own pace, revisit lessons, and practice skills in a way that is more personalized to their learning needs.\r\n\r\nThe stamps have also been very exciting for students because we are using them to send letters. Students have been writing letters related to class projects, reflections, and appreciation letters, and they are very excited about the idea that something they wrote will travel through the mail and reach a real person. For many students, this is the first time they have ever sent a letter through the mail, which has made the activity feel very meaningful and real to them.\r\n\r\nSome students in particular have really connected with the laptops because they feel more confident completing assignments digitally than on paper. I have students who are normally very quiet in class but are much more willing to participate when working on the computer, especially when they can create slides or type out their ideas instead of speaking in front of the class. Other students have really enjoyed the letter writing activities and take a lot of pride in carefully writing and preparing something to send in the mail.\r\n\r\nOverall, your donation has helped make learning more interactive, more engaging, and more meaningful for our students. We are very grateful for your support and for the opportunities you have helped provide for our classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our students and our school.","fullyFundedDate":1768187482884,"projectUrl":"project/mathematical-learning-and-tracking-throu/9998001/","projectTitle":"Mathematical Learning and Tracking through Stamps and Laptops","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Canela Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9360719"},{"teacherId":10054753,"projectId":10037256,"letterContent":"I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you who contributed to our educational journey. The positive impact that these supplies have made on our classroom cannot be overstated, and they have brought so much joy to our collective learning experiences!\r\nStudents were excited to create their Solar/Lunar Eclipse diagrams on paper with their brand new colored pencils, and to create solar system posters using our new permanent markers. Also, the entire classroom became excited when I pulled out the new Earth/Moon/Sun rotating Planetarium that pulled together all of our learning standards into a hands-on activity that everyone could enjoy. We have made daily use of our new magnetic timers as well, to better pace our lessons and create urgency in our learning expeditions.\r\nThe next steps for my classroom are to explore the science concepts of Natural Selection and Evolutionary History, which will be supplemented by the \"Fossils/Minerals of the USA\" material that was provided to my classroom through Donor's Choose.","fullyFundedDate":1768147636067,"projectUrl":"project/8th-grade-science-specialties/9997299/","projectTitle":"8th Grade Science Specialties!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Simon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6041779_orig.jpg?crop=936,936,x0,y93&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633470619832","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mistersimon"},{"teacherId":9562864,"projectId":10003979,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support and for providing the donations. The monitor has transformed the way instruction is delivered. Students can clearly see worked examples, models, and step-by-step explanations from anywhere in the room. This has reduced confusion, minimized repeated directions, and allowed us to spend more time engaging in meaningful discussion and problem-solving. When visuals are large, organized, and easy to follow, students participate more confidently and stay focused on the learning rather than struggling to see or interpret the material.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is watching students respond to the improved visibility and flow of lessons. They are quicker to ask questions, more willing to explain their thinking, and better able to track multi-step processes in real time. The ability to display student work clearly has also strengthened peer discussion, as we can analyze and learn from one another's reasoning together as a class.\r\n\r\nThe additional supplies that support daily organization and preparation ensure that instruction remains steady and consistent throughout long school days. When the classroom environment runs smoothly, students receive clearer explanations, faster feedback, and uninterrupted learning time. It was incredible to see how eager they were to get started using them and I had many students express joy knowing they didn't have to wait on materials before they could use them. \r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue exploring potential careers by building projects that use these supplies. Students are using the noise-canceling headphones during independent reading and writing to improve focus, and the visual timer has helped reduce anxiety during transitions and work periods. Many students who used to have trouble finding something they were interested in now eagerly pick up a book and read on their own. This has inspired students to take greater responsibility for their education and strengthened the reading culture in our classroom.\r\n\r\nMany of these new resources will be used by students in the future as they prepare and compose their informative essays.
