I am requesting ten portable dance barres so that they can learn different styles of dance and increase their strength and flexibility. Dance is found in almost every corner of the world! From cultural, folk, stylistic, or even just to celebrate, dance is used as an expression for emotions and to represent the lifestyles of our ever-changing societies. Students at my school have limited resources when it comes to learning dance and being able to correctly learn different styles by using the ballet barres will provide them opportunities that would normally cost their families extra money at a dance studio. As they continue to work with the ballet barres, they will begin to feel a difference in their movements, become more confident with their steps, and protect themselves against injuries because they'll know how to properly align themselves. The ballet barres not only focus on alignment and furthering the student's dance knowledge, but also provides opportunities for them to work together on challenging dance steps and create a positive atmosphere through teamwork. The portable ballet barres will also provide students a chance to learn dance in any space which can provide a fun and enjoyable circumstance for students to learn in different locations outside the classroom plus provide them opportunities to properly practice turns, kicks, balances, and stretches.
